4 Divine Healing conference Rev. Dr. Mark Durie, who was the minister at Oaktree Anglican while we were meeting there when our Caulfield Messianic Centre was being built, is one of 3 speakers at a conference called ‘Divine Healing in the 21st Century’, being held from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th of November, at St Paul’s church in Caulfield North, to celebrate a century of healing ministry there. Participants wil be able to engage with inspiring speakers, uplifting worship, and meaningful discussions that delve into the profound connections between faith, healing, and the modern world. 5 Volunteers needed for Simcha We’re needing some volunteers for Simcha, such as men to set up trestle tables during the daytime a couple of days before Simcha starts, others to stay behind after the Friday night dinner and session, to pack up the tables and reset the chairs for the Saturday and Sunday sessions, and some to help with the morning and afternoon teas we’re providing. 6 Volunteers needed at Belgrave Heights Convention Centre Also, Belgrave Heights Convention Centre, where next year’s Simcha will be held, are finishing some new buildings and accommodation rooms, and they are needing volunteers on Thursdays to help with cleaning windows & floors, moving furniture into place, welding, carpentry, mowing, landscaping, gardening and building retaining walls & decks. 7 Maryam/Angel found a place in Dandenong Katie Shafar has sent us an update on Maryam or Angel, who was a refugee with 4 children who fled family violence. Thank you to those who contributed money towards her car and accommodation. She has been granted public housing and moved in this past Tuesday, and she is going to study Aged Care next year.
8 Bible Reading Plan There are ‘Bible-in-a-year’ daily reading plans on the foyer table, which include the weekly Torah portions as well as the whole Bible in a year, so please take one.
9 Caring for our Community Happy birthday today to Brenda, Monday to Josie who turns 2 and Phoebe who turns 12, Tuesday to our wonderful cellist, Flinder, and Friday to Rafael Frangioni and to twins David & Hannah who all turn 4, and to Avi who turns 6. Happy 5th wedding anniversary today and also next Shabbat (as they had one wedding in Queensland and one in Melbourne) to Enoch & Sarah, happy 11th wedding anniversary Wednesday to Sean & Nicole whose third baby will be born this month, and happy 16th wedding anniversary Friday to Byron & Angie. And happy birthday or wedding anniversary to anyone else celebrating this week.
