Role Descriptions for BH services Volunteers
The Outdoor Security man will keep a lookout for anyone acting suspiciously, to keep our congregation safe. He will also count the no. of adults attending each service and and will notify leadership if the number exceeds 150, to comply with current COVID requirements. This role is best done by one man from 8am to the end of the Family service.
Greeters will greet people with a smile, assist anyone who needs to use the front lift, and ask people to check in with the QR code (& direct them to the Check-in person if they need help with that). They will also look out for new people, especially parents who need to be informed of where the children’s programs are and the need to check their children in and out of those. Arrival times: 8am to assist before Shacharit service & 10am to assist before Family service.
Check-in Assistants will help adults who are not familiar with checking in using our QR code. If the adult doesn’t have a smartphone, the Check-in Assistant can use their own phone to check the adult in and any other people with him/her from the same household. Check-in Assistants can also remind new parents they still need to check their children in, and show them where to do that. Arrival times: 8am to assist before Shacharit service & 10am to assist before Family service.
Ushers are to assist people living in the same household to sit together, but people in different households to obey the COVID seating signs of leaving a seat in between. Ushers are also to inform new people that the services are live-streamed, and to show them suitable places to sit if they don’t want to be seen online. Arrival times: 8am to assist before Shacharit service & 10am to assist before Family service.
<Please note: Greeters, Check-in Assistants and Ushers rostered on the first Shabbat each month will also be required to assist in the distribution of Lord’s Seder elements.
Shalom Creche, Shalom Kids and Shalom Youth
Shalom Creche, Shalom Kids and Shalom Youth are always looking for volunteers who feel called to serve our children. Please be aware that we consider it a great privilege to serve in our Shalom Programs and we require that you fully comply with all Government Regulations (WWCC, Crim Check) and Beit Hamashiach requirements (Interview, Safe Spaces Training, Code of Conduct and Children’s Ministry Training) before being welcomed as a Shalom Program Volunteer by the Children and Families Ministry Leader and the Beit Hamashaich Board.
Children’s Check-in & check-out:
This role involves using a database to search for children and check them in before they enter the age-appropriate Shalom Program, and also to check them out after the Family service, ensuring each child is only picked up by the approved parent/guardian listed in the database. Arrival time: 10am
Cleaning between the Shacharit & Family services:
This is required due to COVID regulations. A checklist of high touch surfaces to be cleaned is provided, as are the materials to be used for cleaning. Arrival time: 9:15am
This role requires someone with training or experience in using a commercial coffee machine to provide coffee to congregation members between the Shacharit and Family services, and in future, after Family services. Arrival time: 9am
This role involves videoing the service, including worship, liturgy and message, to a level of expertise required for live-stream services. Arrival time: 7:30am, to video both Shacharit and Family services.
This role involved projecting song lyrics (using the EasyWorship program) and powerpoint or video presentations onto the screen. Arrival time: 7:30am, to serve in both Shacharit and Family services.
This role involves using a digital desk to mix sound for the congregation, in-ears sound for the worship team members, and sound for the vMix program, to a level of expertise required for live-stream services. Arrival time: 7:30am, to serve in both Shacharit and Family services.
This role involves using the vMix program to combine the Camera footage, Visuals and Sound from the live service, to live-stream into YouTube and Facebook. Arrival time: 7:30am, to serve in both Shacharit and Family services.
This role involves 2 people, collecting the offering box, and after the service concludes, heading upstairs to count and sign off. The offering is then given to Heidi Polonsky to bank
