| 1 | Welcome | Shabbat Shalom and welcome to the Beit HaMashiach community announcements. Thank you for joining us in person and online. If you are new here, we’d love you to introduce yourself to any of our leaders. |
| 2 | Purim Service | Our 10:30am service next Saturday 23rd of March is our Purim service, where we will celebrate the victory God gave the Jewish people including Esther, against their enemies including Haman. Can everyone please wear costumes such as people from the book of Esther, but not Haman, or your favourite character from a book, movie or cartoon. This will be followed by a ‘bring-and-share’ lunch in our dining hall. You are welcome to bring ‘hamantaschen’ (literally ‘Haman’s ears’ – fruit-filled butter cookies), and please also bring some savoury finger food, but remember no pork or shellfish. |
| 3 | Passover registration open & Volunteers needed | Celebrate Messiah’s Melbourne Passover Seder is at 6pm Wednesday 24th of April, in the St Kilda Town Hall. For more information and to register, please go to celebratemessiah.com.au/booking-passover-2024-mel/ Children 5 years and under are free, but must still be registered. There is a discount for a table of 10, so if you’d like to book a table, please find out the dietary requirements of the people in your group before registering them. Thank you. We still need many volunteers to set up beforehand, and to wash and pack up afterwards. Please see Karen if you can help. Only volunteers in the band or serving at tables during the Seder will receive the volunteer discount, by registering using the code from Karen. There is also a Passover Seder in Sydney and Canberra, so those of you living in those cities, please go to the Celebrate Messiah website for details and to register. |
| 4 | Volunteers needed for Tikkun Olam packing & delivering for Purim | Tikkun Olam, one of Celebrate Messiah’s ministries meaning ‘repairing the world”, has an event this Thursday 21st of March, starting here at 10am, to pack and deliver Purim food hampers to Jewish people in Caulfield and surrounding suburbs. We need many volunteers for this, so for more information and to help, please contact Barry – 0425 826 938 or barry@celebratemessiah.com.au |
| 5 | Caring for our Community | Happy birthday today to Karen Bond, Monday to Joshua Zulli who turns 8, Wednesday to Alex Chua, and Thursday to Paul Cohen. Happy 41st wedding anniversary Tuesday to Tom and Margaret, and happy 12th Wedding Anniversary Wednesday to Cam and Manman. And happy birthday or wedding anniversary to anyone else celebrating this week. |
