March 09 2024, Beit HaMashiach Announcements

# Announcement Details/Script
1 Welcome Shabbat Shalom and welcome to the Beit HaMashiach community announcements. Thank you for joining us in person and online. If you are new here, we’d love you to introduce yourself to any of our leaders.
2 Purim Service

We would like to remind you that Beit HaMashiach’s Purim service is in our 10:30am Shabbat service on 23rd of March, 2 weeks from today! We encourage you all to wear costumes such as Bible characters, or your favourite character from a book, movie or cartoon; anything to celebrate the victory in the book of Ruth that God gave to the Jewish people against their enemies!

This will be followed by a ‘bring-and-share’ lunch in our dining hall. You are welcome to bring ‘hamantaschen’ to eat (literally ‘Haman’s ears’ – fruit-filled butter cookies), and please also bring some savoury finger food, but remember no pork/ham/bacon or shellfish.

3 Passover registration open & Volunteers needed

Celebrate Messiah’s Melbourne Passover Seder is at 6pm Wednesday 24th of April, in the St Kilda Town Hall. For more information and to register, please go to celebratemessiah.com.au/booking-passover-2024-mel/

Children 5 years and under are free, but need to be registered as they’ll need a chair or high chair and we still need to know their dietary requirements.

There is a discount for a table of 10, so if you’d like to book a table, please find out the dietary requirements of the people in your group before registering them. Thanks.

We still need many volunteers to set up beforehand, serve at tables during, and wash and pack up afterwards. Please see Karen if you can help in any way. Volunteers who will be helping during the actual Seder will be given a code to use when registering, to receive the volunteer discount.

For those of you watching who live in other states, there will also be a Passover Seder in Sydney and Canberra, so please see celebratemessiah.com.au for details and to register.

4 Volunteers needed for Tikkun Olam packing & delivering for Purim Tikkun Olam, one of Celebrate Messiah’s ministries meaning ‘repairing the world’, has organized a day to pack and deliver Purim food hampers to Jewish people in Caulfield and surrounding suburbs. It’s here on Thursday 21st March, from 10am. We need many volunteers for this, so for more information and to help, please contact Barry on 0425 826 938 or barry@celebratemessiah.com.au
5 Caring for our Community Happy birthday tomorrow to Mack (Gail McCrea), Tuesday to Ashley de Silva and to Cherish Toma who turns 21, Thursday to Enid, and Friday to Edwin Bishop senior and Michael Elder (not the one married to Linda!). And happy birthday or wedding anniversary to anyone else celebrating this week.
6 Offering Finally, thank you for your ongoing support of Beit HaMashiach. We invite you to give your tithes and offerings at beithamashiach.com, or in person using the QR posters or the offering box at the back of the Sanctuary during the next song. There are also envelopes there if you would like to contribute towards our ZulaRoo Surf House.
Shabbat Shalom and Shavua Tov.
