# Announcement Details/Script
1 Welcome Shabbat Shalom, Chag Hanukkah Sameach, and welcome to the Beit HaMashiach community announcements. Thank you for joining us in person and online. If you are new here, we’d love you to introduce yourself to any of our leaders.
2 Hanukkah Picnic in the Park today, so no Mayim Chayim. Last M.C. service for 2023 is 16th Dec. We invite you to join us for a B.Y.O. picnic lunch after today’s service. We’ll leave together, carrying Israel flags to show our support again for the Jewish community, and we’ll have lunch together in the area of Princes Park near Hawthorn Road where we had our rally after Simcha. If you haven’t brought the traditional fried foods for Hanukkah such as latkes and donuts, there may be some left at the cafes you’ll pass on the way to the park. Due to this picnic, there will be no 2pm Mayim Chayim service today. However it will be on next week 16th of December, and will be the final Mayim Chayim service for this year.
3 Jewish Community Hanukkah event tomorrow This year, the local Hanukkah event put on by the Jewish community is at Caulfield Racecourse, tomorrow 10th of December, from 4: 30pm. Entry is free and is via Station Street. It will be a great opportunity to stand with Israel and celebrate Hanukkah, with music, food, rides and finishing at 9pm with fireworks and a grand menorah lighting. For more information go to facebook. com/Chanukahinthepark/ or take a flyer from the foyer table.
4 Prayer etc. at Hamkerkaz this Tuesday 12th Dec This coming Tuesday 12th of December, our Caulfield Messianic Centre will be open from 12noon for prayer and reflection, followed by a Hanukkah service at 7pm involving lighting the Hanukkah candles, praise and worship, and prayer for Israel.
5 MTC courses – Term 1, 2024 (see Word version for proper formatting) Our Messianic Training Centre will run three new courses in Term 1 next year, starting from Monday 29 January. They are: Messiah in the Prophets, Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 1, and Intermediate Biblical Hebrew Part 1.

Here are more details about each course –

Messiah in the Prophets, Thursday nights, taught by Paul Cohen: The Hebrew prophets saw visions of Yeshua hundreds of years before his birth, illuminating His identity, nature and mission. This course will focus on familiar and less well-known prophecies to help us understand God’s plan of redemption, see Messianic prophecies fulfilled, and inspire us to prayerfully use Messianic prophecies in our conversations with Jewish friends and colleagues.

Beginners Biblical Hebrew Part 1, Tuesday nights, taught by Sharon Dingjan: This is the first of an eight-part series on Biblical Hebrew. It will be followed by Beginners Biblical Hebrew Parts 2, 3 and 4 in 2024, and Intermediate Biblical Hebrew Parts 1 – 4 in 2025. The course is designed for people with little or no prior knowledge of Hebrew, and will focus on teaching students to recognise and read Biblical Hebrew as quickly as possible.

Intermediate Biblical Hebrew Part 1, Monday nights, taught by Eleanor Miles: This course is designed for students who completed Biblical Hebrew Level 1 Part 4, or for those with previous knowledge of Hebrew. Students will continue to deepen their knowledge of the grammar, vocabulary and syntax of Biblical Hebrew, read the Book of Ruth and explore the features of Hebrew prose.
