February 24, 2024, Beit HaMashiach Announcements
# | Announcement | Details/Script |
---|---|---|
1 | Welcome | Shabbat Shalom and welcome to the Beit HaMashiach community announcements. Thank you for joining us in person and online. If you are new here, we’d love you to introduce yourself to any of our leaders. |
2 | Mayim Chayim | There is no 2pm Mayim Chayim service today. We'll let you know soon when it will resume. |
3 | Hammond Care ministry | Our ministry into Hammond Care nursing home is on the fourth Wednesday of each month. So the first one for this year is this coming Wednesday 28th of February. It’s from 11am to 12 noon and usually consists of worship, a message from God’s Word, and interaction with the residents, including praying for them if they want that. If you would like to join the team who usually go, please talk to Katie or Sally today, and you can then either meet at Hamerkaz at 10:30am on Wednesday or go straight there – Kooyong Road, Caulfield – before 11am. |
4 | Morning teas | It’s wonderful fellowshipping over morning tea each Shabbat and we’d like to remind you that you’re welcome to bring a plate of finger food to share any Shabbat. |
5 | Volunteer needed for Passover | As we’ve mentioned the last 2 weeks, Celebrate Messiah’s Passover Seder is 6pm Wednesday 24th of April, at the St Kilda Town Hall which fits 400 people. We therefore need many volunteers. Please see Karen if you would be able to help the day before with preparing symbolic foods, or on the day loading tubs of crockery, glasses, cultery, etc. at Hamerkaz into a tralier then unloading them from the trailer into the venue, or decorating the tables and setting glasses etc. on them, or packing tubs back into the trailer at the very end. And please see Gayle if you woud like to do table service, or washing up in the kitchen during or afterwards, or packing items back into tubs. Or email Karen and Gayle at connect@beithamashiach.com All volunteers this year will get to sit at tables so need to register, for a reduced price. We’ll let you know when registration is open. |
6 | Hebrew manuscripts exhibition | Some of you may be interested in attending an exhibition called “Luminous: A thousand years of Hebrew manuscripts”, that is on display at the State Library Victoria in Swanston Street from now until 14th April. For details, please go to https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/luminous/ |
7 | Non-perishable food for ZulaRoo | As mentioned last week, Corey and Sarah Bolton would like to bless the Israeli back-packers who stay at ZulaRoo Surf House with a pantry full of non-perishable foods like tinned tomatoes, tuna, dried pasta, long life milks and kosher products. So there’s a plastic tub under the foyer table for you to put items in from time to time, which we will then pass onto them. |
8 | Caring for our Community | Happy birthday tomorrow to Luke who turns 12, and to Tara and Ivan, and Wednesday to Joshua Watson who turns 5 and to Anna Mendelis. Happy 6th wedding anniversary today to Craig and Susan. And happy birthday or wedding anniversary to anyone else celebrating this week. |
9 | Offering | Finally, thank you for your ongoing support of Beit HaMashiach. We invite you to give your tithes and offerings at beithamashiach.com, or in person using the QR posters or the offering box at the back of the Sanctuary during the next song. There are also envelopes there if you would like to contribute towards our ZulaRoo Surf House. Shabbat Shalom and Shavua Tov. |
